Mathias Klotz

Mathias-Klotz

Mathias Klotz has a brilliant portfolio full of amazing modern structures. A good portion of his dwellings are very geometric, which I love. My favorite has to be the Casa Los Colonos or The settlers House. It seems this home has gone through several renditions. I am also fond of it’s exterior material and colors, black and white! More of Mathias Klotz’s projects after the jump.

.PSLAB - MYBAR

PSLAB-MYBAR

I love getting emails form Ramzi over at .PSLAB because that usually means they have finished a new project. MYBAR is one I really like. Instead of trying to provide lighting around exposed duct work they incorporated the duct work into the design of their lighting. I said it before and I will say it again “Rock Stars of Modern Lighting” More images after the jump.
The dining area is characterized by visible white ducts covering the ceiling and maintained over a two-level bar connecting the dining area to the drinking area. The furniture layout in this area follows the layout of those ducts. We chose to use the visible ducts in order to create a lighting system unifying the two main sections of the space (drinking/dining). Hence, we developed lighting fixtures in white finish, fixed to the ceiling on the sides of the ducts. To have a rectangular horizontal beam of light centered over the tables, a gap created by the circular opening of the duct defines the shapes of the objects.

Nikolas Koenig’s ability to capture light and detail are amazing and clearly shows in his work. I love the subject matter that he gets to work with, some of these spaces are just plain killer. Check out more photos after the jump.

Mid century modern interiors - Carden Cunietti

Mid-century-modern-int...

We are in the middle of packing up our house and moving in with the In-Laws while our new house is being built. I should just move into the Notting Hill London house. Carden Cunietti did an amazing job at mixing some mid century pieces along with modern. This is how I would love my home to be, PERFECTO! I have included some of their other interiors as they are all worth a drool or two. More after the jump

Modern structures - Dick Clark Architecture

Modern-structures-Dick...

Some of these modern structures by Dick Clark Architecture are jaw dropping. The details and scale are amazing and diverse. I love the Rollingwood house, mostly for the owners car collection. Their interior design skills are also present in all of these structures. More after the jump

Inside out juxtaposition - Villacé + Cominges

Inside-out-juxtapositi...

I love the juxtaposition of exterior and interior of this rehab done by Villacé + Cominges. I am also digging on the interior design as well. It seems to me that each pieces was thought out and placed. I could not find a site for Villacé + Cominges. More after the jump.

Interiors by Fabio Ongarato Design

Interiors-by-Fabio-Ong...

Fabio Ongarato Design has some very cool and diverse projects. I really like the use of color and texture, go bold or go home. I think where they stand out is the ability to adapt vision with function. I wouldn’t mind working or staying in one of these places. More after the jump

How minimal is too minimal?

How-minimal-is-too-min...

More gallery studio, the designer Raf Simons. I know I could not live in a space like this but I could call it my office. I do really love how the artwork weather it be the furniture or what is on the walls plays the main roll as you move from one room to another. Check out more of this minimal space after the jump.
But as soon as you start to climb the stairs surprising glow bright spaces of the two planes that divide the work place and that the study, that of thought and the relations in which it takes place everyday. All white spaces with large windows float within mobile forms clear and precise and the walls will cancel the impact of those rare, as inevitable, pieces of art. Raf Simons is a consultant for contemporary art and curator of exhibitions where fashion, art and photography interact.

Lutsko Associates Landscape

Lutsko-Associates-Land...

I know, another post on modern landscaping but I can’t help it. Lutsko Associates does an amazing job at creating environments that are simple but so full of detail. I love the look of the round grasses planted fairly close together, they sort of create a dimpled lawn. More after the jump.

plywood+nuts+bolts+OSB and you may get a little TILTED

plywoodnutsboltsOSB-an...

I am really digging the use of simple and available materials that TILT is using in their projects. I can’t help but on some level think they are inspiring all of us to DIY, how to, or even make your own furniture using some of the simplest of materials. In no way am I taking away from their work, I think it is killer. I really like the industrial modern vibe that the OSB and nuts and bolts provide. More inspiration after the jump.
