Filed under: TV ReplayMs. Ellen DeGeneres was on 'Late Show' tonight (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), and during her appearance, she got the coveted position of delivering the nightly "Top Ten" list. The topic of the list was "Things That Have Been on Ellen's Mind Lately." And so, DeGeneres got to share the inner workings of her brain with David Letterman, and with the rest of us.

Without further ado, here is a random sampling of the some of the stuff that Ms. DeGeneres has been thinking about lately. The full list covered such important topics as Oprah Winfrey, 'The View,' and the new iPod, but after the jump, we have some of the other highlights ...

Mike Tyson's Surprising Link to the Murder of Tupac Shakur (VIDEO)

Mike-Tysons-Surprising...

Filed under: TV ReplayBoxer Mike Tyson and rapper Tupac Shakur had more in common than you would think. Both men rose from poverty to become superstars. Both men were criticized for the violent and "thuggish" nature of their careers. Both men were sentenced to prison terms (Tyson for alleged rape; Tupac for alleged sexual assault). And perhaps most importantly, both men were good friends.

There's an additional link between them as well. Tyson and Tupac were together on the night of September 7, 1996. This was the night of Tyson's fight for a heavyweight boxing title -- it was also the night that Tupac was shot multiple times, leading to his death six days later. Shakur's brutal murder has never been solved. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

New 'Walking Dead' Clips

New-Walking-Dead-Clips

Filed under: TV Previews, TV NewsThe zombie hordes are amassing. A couple of months before the Halloween premiere date, AMC has released three new clips from 'The Walking Dead,' a new series based on the superb Robert Kirkman graphic novels from Image Comics.

The clips were posted Monday on ComicsAlliance.com, and vary in length -- "Rick's Gun" is just six seconds, "Darkness" 16 seconds and "Hospital Corridor" a minute and five seconds. Between the trailer, released last month and the new clips, the show has been taking a lot of its imagery straight from the book, although writer/director Frank Darabont ('Shawshank Redemption') has said there will be some changes for TV. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Is College Too Risque for Network TV?

Is-College-Too-Risque-...

It seems like no matter how many years have passed since I last made my way to a classroom, early September makes me want to buy penny loafers and Trapper-Keepers. The fact that I live in a university town probably has something to do with it. For the last week, it's been an endless parade of moving vans, stressed-out parents and loud porch parties. I suppose it's a sign of my age that I now relate more to the parents than the kids -- at least, I feel for them, helicoptering around the dumpy student houses, having no idea the insane things their kids will be getting up to once they head back to the highway.

On the surface, it all looks so collegial and lovely but the truth is, the first year of university -- and especially the first few months -- can be a pretty dark time. For a lot of kids, it's their first exposure to binge drinking, blacking out, date rape, teachers that don't know you exist and doing your own laundry. And despite the potential for drama, it's not something you often see on television. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Bo Burnham Gets MTV Show, Is He YouTube's Newest Legitimate Star?

Bo-Burnham-Gets-MTV-Sh...

Filed under: TV NewsCould Bo Burnham's rise from YouTube celebrity to pseudo-fame be as lucrative as Justin Bieber's one day? Or is he destined to go the way of Tay Zonday?

The 20-year-old comedian, who has become a rising star in the comedy world after his offensive yet delightfully self-deprecating songs garnered major YouTube attention, landed a four-record deal with Comedy Central at age 17, a writing deal with Judd Apatow at 18, and the Panel Prize at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at 20. He's also got a Comedy Central special called 'Words, Words, Words' airing Oct. 16, not to mention that episode of 'Comedy Central Presents' he filmed last year.

Now, he's landed a put pilot deal with MTV for an as-yet-untitled new series about "a kid fresh out of high school who's pursing the new American dream of being a celebrity without having any talent," Burnham told Variety. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

'Sister Wives' Sneak Peek: Meet TLC's Newest Reality Stars

Sister-Wives-Sneak-Pee...

Filed under: Features"She's a sister from the same mister and he's a brother from another mother,'' 'Sister Wives' star Kody Brown says, his children giggling, during a trailer for TLC's newest reality series.

Just another happy family in Utah, right?

Well, not exactly. Brown has three wives and 13 children. The show, which debuts Sun., Sept. 26, will follow Brown and his family as he courts a potential fourth wife, who has three kids herself.

It's not easy being a sister wife. "Some people think 'How do you feel when he's off with another woman, and you know they're having sex?''' says one wife in the trailer. "Well, gosh darn it, they better.'' Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Poll: Who Should Die on 'Desperate Housewives'?

Poll-Who-Should-Die-on...

Filed under: Features, Fall TVLooks like the Grim Reaper will be dropping by Wisteria Lane again next season. In an interview with TV Guide, 'Desperate Housewives' showrunner Marc Cherry revealed he's killing off another character.

"My big cliffhanger right before we take our Christmas break will have to do with Paul Young. He has a plan for destroying the neighborhood," he told William Keck. "There will a shocking cliffhanger that effects everyone's lives, and then right before February sweeps, we're going to kill off one of our characters."

Last season, Cherry made waves (and brought on a lawsuit) by offing Edie Britt, played by Nicollette Sheridan. So who might be next on the suburban chopping block? Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments

Sure, we got a taste of her in that awesome opening to this year's Emmys, but that was a weird Jane Lynch/Sue Sylvester hybrid. The Sue in these new 'Glee' promos is the real deal.

Also see if you can spot Chord Overstreet's character singing in the shower, Santana and Quinn going at it and Charice's character performing a duet with Rachel Berry in the bathroom. The tune? Lady Gaga's "Telephone."

Chris Christie Takes Credit For 'Real Housewives of N.J.' Reconciliation (VIDEO)

Chris-Christie-Takes-C...

Filed under: TV ReplayNew Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on 'Morning Joe' (Weekdays, 6 AM ET on MSNBC) Tuesday, and predictably, the conversation turned toward his state's most popular exports: 'The Real Housewives' and 'Jersey Shore.'

Before quizzing him on his presidential aspirations, Mika Brzezinski asked the Republican about Monday night's big reconciliation between Danielle Staub and some of her castmates on 'The Real Housewives' reunion special.

"Another symbol of the Christie administration," Christie bragged, playing it straight. "Bringing people together." Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
